The Ingleside team

Clinical judgment on one side. The machinery to support it on the other.

Ingleside Health is an independent physician records-review and written-opinion service operated by Betula Mental Health PLLC. Dr. Laura Craig owns every medical conclusion. Her husband, Daniel Rogers, runs the operating systems around the work: intake, records, payments, and client communication.

They built the practice around a simple rule: no one should be sold a predetermined medical opinion. The record gets reviewed first; the conclusion follows the evidence.

Physician and clinical lead

Laura Craig, MD

Medical doctor · Board-certified in General Adult Psychiatry

Laura received her B.S. and M.D. from Texas A&M University and completed psychiatry residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

After residency, she became the first full-time psychiatrist at Howard Brown Health. She later led the psychiatry department and helped grow it from two staff members to a team of seven psychiatrists and nurse practitioners.

Laura then spent five years working full-time at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood, with a focus on trauma and PTSD. Her current clinical practice, Betula Mental Health, serves patients located in Illinois and Texas.

After leaving the VA, she created Ingleside Health as a way to continue serving the Veteran community through independent medical review and opinion work. Ingleside is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by VA.

Business manager

Daniel Rogers

Army veteran, operator, and Laura's husband

Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from Kenwood Academy on Chicago's South Side. During four and a half years of service, he deployed to Iraq as a team leader for reconnaissance units in Fallujah and Mosul.

After the Army, Daniel studied at American University, worked as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State, and earned an MBA in Analytical Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

In his day job, Daniel is a data analyst and entrepreneur. Through College Azimuth, he helps students and families make informed decisions about college.

This work is personal for him twice over. Daniel is a veteran, and he is the son of a veteran who did not begin receiving VA disability benefits until the mid-1990s. At Ingleside, he is responsible for making the process clear, secure, and less wasteful of a veteran's time.
