Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice
Effective date: 2026-09-05
This notice supplements the Website Privacy Policy and applies to consumer health data that is not otherwise regulated as protected health information under HIPAA. “Consumer health data” can include information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to a person and reveals or permits an inference about that person's physical or mental health or request for health services.
Consumer health data we collect
The public website does not operate an inquiry or intake form. If you nevertheless include health information in an administrative email, or if applicable law treats public browsing or a request for our services as consumer health data, the categories may include:
- a request for an evaluation or health-related service;
- general service eligibility and location information;
- health information you voluntarily provide despite our instruction not to do so; and
- technical information that becomes linked to an apparent interest in a health-related service.
Information submitted through Box is handled under our Health Information Privacy Notice and applicable professional-record law. If HIPAA applies to a service, Betula will provide and post the applicable Notice of Privacy Practices as required by law.
Sources
We may receive consumer health data directly from you through administrative email despite our warning, from a person you authorize, or automatically from the public website where technical information becomes linked to an apparent interest in a health-related service. Box intake data is addressed separately in the Health Information Privacy Notice.
Purposes
We collect and use consumer health data only as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the public website, respond to an administrative communication, comply with law, or for another purpose to which you separately consent.
Sharing
We may share consumer health data only as reasonably necessary with service providers that support website hosting, security, or administrative email; with a recipient you direct; or as law permits or requires. Box-hosted intake and professional-service disclosures are described in the Health Information Privacy Notice.
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not use geofences around healthcare facilities to identify or collect consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
Where applicable, you may request:
- confirmation of whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data;
- access to that data, including a list of recipients where required;
- correction;
- deletion from our systems and, where required, notice to processors or other recipients;
- withdrawal of consent for future collection or sharing; and
- review of a decision denying your request.
Submit a request or appeal using the privacy contact below. We will verify identity and authority using information reasonably necessary for the request. We will not discriminate for exercising a right.
If protected health information is involved, HIPAA or professional-record obligations may require retention or may provide a different access, amendment, or deletion rule. We will explain which rule applies.
Changes and contact
We will post material changes before they take effect and obtain consent where required.
